Once upon a time, solar cells were cumbersome. They weren’t easy to build and their hefty weight meant they weren’t easy to install either. Fortunately, as everything from smartphones to laptops have become thinner and lighter over the past several decades, so have solar cells.

Imagine a world where someone with a serious health condition could step into a friend’s house and have their thermostat automatically adjust the temperature to a level that will help them feel comfortable.

When we returned from the Iguazu falls, it was time to pick things up again. After visiting such a beautiful natural site, it was hard to start off like nothing happened. With our final deadline in sight, and lots of work yet to be done, we pulled ourselves together and forced ourselves to continue.

“Universities ought to lead society in making the world more sustainable”, says a new student-led organisation, launched last week as part of the Netherlands’ Day of Sustainability on Friday October 9th, 2015.

Time is ticking away while TU students in Spain prepare their rocket for its jump to the edge of space at 50 kilometres altitude. The launch is scheduled for Wednesday October 14, 2015 at 10 AM.
