No QR-code for international students
International students from outside the European Union get stuck in bureaucracy when they want to obtain the vaccination certificate required in the Netherlands. It concerns students from the United Kingdom and the United States, among others, but it is not clear exactly how many students are affected.

Tests
The Dutch Ministry of Public Health advises people who stay in the Netherlands for a longer period of time to have their vaccination certificate converted at the GGD in Utrecht. But for short stays, according to spokesperson Annerijn Vink, this is not practical “because the process takes too long”. In that case, she says, it is more practical for them – although vaccinated – to get tested before entry.
The Interstedelijk Studentenoverleg (ISO) hopes that a solution will be found soon. Prospective international students do not know anyone here yet. “It is very important that they can go out and meet people,” says president Lisanne de Roos. The ISO would like to map out the extent of the problem and calls on international students who encounter this problem to come forward. (HOP, JvE)
