Project MARCH bounces back

TU Delft’s Project MARCH team spent months preparing for Cybathlon but their plans came to a halt mere days before they were scheduled to fly to Zurich for the event. While they were beginning a practice session, their innovative exoskeleton detached from its testing system and fell down.

The substantial damages, in addition to the further testing and adjustments the team were still facing, forced them to make a difficult decision. On Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 they announced they wouldn’t be competing in Cybathlon, which took place last weekend. Despite this setback, the team vowed to continue on to Zurich in order to participate in a demonstration and share their knowledge with other groups like them that are developing robotic exoskeletons to help disabled people increase their mobility.

Looking ahead, the members of Project MARCH plan to continue the project. The team is currently participating in the Accenture Innovation Awards and they hope to win the competition’s Audience Award. You can support their efforts by casting your vote for them via this link.
