The Netherlands have an overcapacity in lab space, said Dr. Maarten van Dongen and Artur Tutein Nolthenius MSc. from the new start-up LabForRent. Renting out is an obvious solution with benefits for the owner as well the the tenant (who saves investment). LabForRent has developed a concept to battle lab vacancies facilitating the sharing of superfluous lab space.
“Starting and growing companies will find a summary of available labs in the Netherlands. Letters include science parks, incubators, research institutions and companies. Our platform aims to stimulate innovation in life sciences by conjunction”,said the initiators.
On the basis of their current results, LabForRent expects a strong growth in available lab space for the life sciences. “We’re considering to extend our services to renting out lab equipment, technical expertise and contract research”, said Van Dongen and Tutein.
LabForRent expects to extend their services to surrounding European countries such as Belgium, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
