Water pumping contest

First year students Mechanical Engineering (3mE Faculty) competed in designing the best bicycle-driven water pump. They had only ten minutes to assemble their design and then just five minutes to pump up 130 liters of water.

Most of the students used well-known techniques, applied to the specific task, said organiser Dr. Regine Vroom. She was surprised by the dimensions of some of the solutions.
