TU Delft’s Central International Office plays an important role in facilitating international students, employees and guests in coming to Delft. Services offered range from visa application prior to arrival to acculturation workshops and field trips once in the Netherlands.
Hassan Nemati, 27, came to Delft from his native Iran via Switzerland. He arrived here in 2012 to pursue a PhD in mechanical engineering and enjoys the country, though he admits he does complain about the weather.

Usually, a bird can’t wait to fly the nest. Students can’t wait to wrap up stints at one university and jump to another. Yet, contrary to the trend in other parts of the world, TU Delft seems to be an exception to the rule.

Je koopt je suf aan bumpers en hoesjes, en past wel drie keer op dat je gekoesterde smartphone niet zomaar op de grond valt. En dan willen twee Delftse studenten dat je hem met hun nieuwste app zo hoog mogelijk in de lucht gooit…? Knap staaltje marketing van EWI-studenten Olivier Hokke en Eric Rijnboutt – of is het gewoon een briljant ontwerp? Hun app Catchy verscheen onlangs op de Android-markt en wat niemand had voorzien gebeurde: hij werd warempel massaal geïnstalleerd.
Vaker dan voorheen krijgen vertrouwenspersonen aan de TU Delft meldingen over vrouwen en niet-leidinggevenden. Voor het eerst komt ook de hoge druk om te publiceren naar voren.
Fraude tijdens tentamens. Het onderwerp maakt
een hoop emoties los, al heeft de TU er weinig last van.
En dat terwijl een kwaadwillende student er niet heel veel moeite voor hoeft te doen.
