Gijsbert Kant groeide op in Vlissingen met verhalen over de strijd tegen het water. Het was daarom niet verrassend dat hij waterbouwkunde ging studeren in Delft. Nu werkt hij mee aan de realisatie van de Tweede Maasvlakte, het grootste landaanwinningproject in Nederland sinds veertig jaar.
