Retreating sea ice has allowed increased shipping in the harsh conditions of the Barents Sea and the Arctic Ocean. On-board safety is mainly affected by sea spray freezing on contact with the ship deck. Funded by the NWO Polar Programme, researchers from TU Delft are studying the very basics of sea spray formation.

Now that the design is finished, it is time to turn our dreams into reality. The production phase for the Hull and Body department is being done at the Rondal and Royal Huisman wharf.

With the start of the new semester, a lot of new international students have come to Delft to start their exchange programme. What brings them here?

De verschillen in toeslagen die gemeenten aan studenten met een functiebeperking geven zijn enorm, stellen CNV Jongeren en de Landelijke Studentenvakbond. Ze roepen gemeenten op minstens 282 euro per maand toe te kennen. De gemeente Delft geeft de studenten 150 euro in de maand.

The famous tower ‘Building 36’ of the TU is a lot more empty because the departments of Mathematics and Computer Science left. Since January this part of the faculty is situated in the new building at the Van Mourik Broekmanweg. And that is a good thing, employees say.
