Today, Friday 24 September, TU Delft will open the Climate Action Hub on the Hague campus, a physical meeting place where administrators, policy makers, citizens, businesses and knowledge institutions can work together on concrete climate solutions.
The hub is part of the TU Delft Climate Action Programme, announced in April, with which TU Delft aims to take the lead in tackling climate change. The opening will be marked by a panel discussion on stimulating propositions concerning climate policy. As befits the idea behind the hub, the panel discussion will include people from various corners of the ‘climate field’: the government (Sandor Gaastra of the Ministry of Economic Affairs), non profit organisations (Janneke de Vries of the World Resources Institute), international cooperation (water envoy Henk Ovink, alias ‘Henk the waterguy’) and science: ‘natural disasters professor’ Maarten van Aalst, director of the Red Cross Climate Centre and Leiden professor Marja Spierenburg.
Speaking on behalf of TU Delft, ‘cloud scientist’ Herman Russchenberg and energy and climate ethicist Behnam Taebi will also take part. The opening and the panel discussion can be followed live between 15.00 and 17.00 via this livestream.
