Delft footprint

For the 165th anniversary of the founding of TU Delft, the Delft Technical Museum has organized an exhibition on the theme of Sustainable Development, entitled ‘A Delft Footprint in Africa’. The exhibition offers a broad look at projects TU Delft is conducting in Africa and elsewhere in the world. The projects demonstrate smart solutions for local African problems and potential solutions for systemic problems faced in Africa and elsewhere. The exhibits show that sustainable solutions are not always about finding the latest technological tools, but more about achieving the right embedding of the technology in the local culture and the intensive and inspiring cooperation with the local population. At the same time, the exhibition invites active participation in envisioning possible solutions for a specific problem. The exhibition is an excellent opportunity for young people to become familiar with sustainability and local conditions in other countries. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday until 31 December 2007.
Cheap chairs

TU Delft is once again offering students and staff the chance to buy a special ergonomic office chair at a discount price. Through this offer, the Executive Board hopes to improve everyone’s awareness of how to prevent complaints related to screen work, like RSI. The chairs, which are intended for home use, have been specially selected for their combination of ergonomic features, low price and durability – with a choice from three different models

It was a remarkable win. After 500 meters, the Delft team trailed the teams from Italy and Germany, but soon thereafter took the lead and finished the two-kilometer race in first place.

The white bikes, which include the logo of the TU Eindhoven, are valued at 600 euro in the shops. The plan was the initiative of the student committee of the university executive board. Sponsors of the program include the university, the city council and the bike company Batavus.
